LuxRender and blender

Just started playing around with blender and a freshly installed version of Luxrender. So far, although daunting, I like the accuracy and specificity of Luxrender.

The two renders above took about 12 minutes each

Learning to animate

The video below is the product of about 20 minutes of animating by hand. I've been working on my rendering, lighting and modelling skills yet have shied away from animation. I decided to change that today by self education and practice!

Enjoy

'Brenizer method' large scale images

Well I recently heard about the 'Brenizer method', which in all honesty was a pretty simple idea which I did not see as too exciting. What I did find interesting was its uses to emphasise depth of field. So this morning I set out with my 50mm f1.4 and gave it a go. The final images, around 10,000 px in dimensions look fantastic and give great contrast between buttery smooth out of focus areas and tack sharp in focus features.

Playing around with cycles

just a small upload, playing with particles and cycles. I would like to use cycles alot more in my blender pipline however with my AMD GPU, GPU rendering sadly isn't supported.

Update: Still Render

Just posted a render, was quite happy with the composting, used a equirectangular image for image-based-lighting. Is motion tracked 180frame short, only posted single render as it takes too long to render at test at 1080p with IBL etc.

Match Move / Walker

Just another scene, this time a cliff village style setting for the walkers.

The walkers aren't animated, but the camera tracking works well.
